Re: Dog Owners - "Wireless Fence" or Radio Fence
My dog is a bit of a Wayne Carini : "I chase cars" - it is his passion and would be the death of him but for the fence. Where I live fencing is an impossibility (the terrain just does not suit a "yard" but the radio fence has saved his bacon for the past 7 years. The original col...

What's the update on Capn Marty's proposed USAF KB OTW study?
I'd suggest they all stick with Nate Morrison's suggestions , IMO of course.
Now there is a man with True Tactical Knowledges and field cred.

Looks interesting. http://www.booktopia.com.au/manthropology-the-secret-science-of-modern-male-inadequacy/prod9780733623912.html Drawing from archaeology, anthropology and evolutionary psychology, the author confirms the awful truth: every man in history, back to the dawn of the species, did everyth...

David Morgan lifted 140kg in the snatch & 162 in the C&J at the last World Masters games - when he was 41. I hope he's giving it another shot in Sydney in October. I find it highly very amusing people are calling him out on form. Must feel very threatened by his proven ability to lift heavy ...

If you're a woman you can look this good (& pained) with just alcohol & drugs. Why bother working out at all? I mean it's all about the look ain't it? We love you Amy!

Superskilled as they all undoubtedly are , I am yet to see them jump back and forth over a loaded barbell (Rolandow , up to 200lbs back in the day). I'd love to see them practise this feat , over concrete would be preferable but best of all , on a swiss ball.

The charcoal provides the soil bu...

IIRC there's some studies out there which show that bodyweight exercises give more nervous system activation than with weights so get him doing that if possible.... if he can support himself on rings that would be ideal for upper body since that will give a HUGE amount of stabilization/activation w...

I would like to get a hold of those as well. Cerutty is apparently a massive influence on the Gym Jones crowd as well. In his day he was known , to coin a phrase , as a "complete and utter fucking nut". Nowadays he'd slip under the radar @IgX. Read http://www.abc.net.au/rn/talks/8.30/spor...

Puking is a sign of failure. Real champion athletes don't puke - they collapse, but not puke. If you puke you are weak. Cardinal sign of a loose sphincter...and bulimia nervosa. The Bastard Son of the Shafman wrote:The puking thing: It's so cute

Re: Anyone read Ultramarathon Man?
Not read it , but Perc Cerutty (the chap I just mentioned in a thread in this section ) in 1945 ran 100miles after he recovered from near death in his 40s. Later , he developed a challenge: -Press (mil. press) your bodyweight -Swim a mile -Walk (or run) 100miles All in 48hrs. He did it too , as an o...

Percy Cerutty "Why Die?"
I first read a book by this guy at school and it convinced me I needed to start weightlifting. All his runners (middle distancers) had to be able to get their bodyweight overhead , amongst other shit. This was the 50s. I am trying to track this book down; it was a big influence. This biography is fa...

Instead of having something silly like the gaymes, why not create some sort of fitness decathlon? They could do ten different events that are pre-designated, and have a set scoring system to go along with them. As gay as something like that sounds, it could be pretty fun. For example day one could ...

I felt kind of gay today at work when I was handling a section of PVC. I walked about 75 yards with it across my shoulders to put it away in a rack. If it was a 6000x100mm sewer pipe section ("whippy thick bar") , that is deemed acceptable in the trade - and not gay. But maybe not use ter...
