Re: Face Masks Make You Stupid

Hepatitis A lasts a LOT longer than Covid. Months in the right aqueous condition. Best for Covid appears to be 72 hrs under perfect conditions on plastic. On a copper surface it's 4 hrs. Cardboard gets 24.

I know I'm not super active but I'd hate for the place to be gone.
However I don't know how to stop the gradual fading. All places lose a few from time to time and you need new voices to join the conversation.

I work in a teaching hospital and my mother is our childcare provider most workdays with schools virtual. She is immune-deficient. Vaccine likely ineffective for her.

New York state application for vaccine for over 75 group is apparently a 42 step online application with multiple required document uploads.

Good job Cuomo. Really taking the target population into account there.

Haven't confirmed it but i read that the D.C. mayor requested a light police presence "to avoid inflaming tensions". If true, a strategic error.

Re: How are we feeling about rioters this week?

The Left and Big Tech are going to push an effort to silence dangerous right wingers now. When people push huge lies it's tempting to just shut them up, I know. But I have 2 predictions: 1. The silencing will be massively heavy handed and over-reaching. 2. The left will see no way this could possibl...

Re: How are we feeling about rioters this week?

Snark aside, it's terrible. And while I don't think Trump met the legal definition of incitement, he escalated rather than de-escalated. Played right, he could have run in 2024 or been a power broker. Not now. He is done. I wonder if the left will ever admit how they smoothed his way into the nomina...

Storming barricades and occupying govt buildings is bad now?
Must have missed the memo about that policy change.

I actually read one of the full-on SJW lefty mag writers describe orthodox Judaism as "a kind of super-whiteness". I shit you not. They don't consider Jews victims, and have the battlespace prepped to throw them under the bus the instant they dissent from the Party.

Re: Cities to visit in the Southwest

My uncle went to grad school there after he got out of the Marines. In good weather it has what I think may be the largest naturally fed swimming pool in the US, built perhaps 100 years ago outdoors at a spring. It's very popular with the local strippers. At least judging by the numbers of them my u...

The food in Austin is is fantastic, really hope it will be open is the only thing. I am a big Texas brisket partisan after visiting my uncle there years ago. And of course the Tex-Mex cuisine is just so good, and unmatched by anything you can get outside the southwest. In normal times the music scen...

It ought to be an easy win for the Dems. But honestly their sheer incompetence at pretending to be regular normal people is shocking. If they lose the presidency it's 100% an own goal.

This is a useless argument. Are muggings not real when commited by someone who isn't a paid-up member of a local mugger's union? Independent enlistment in an ideology is a thing, as anyone trying to stop lone-wolf terrorists could tell you.

Re: Excellent discussion of the McCloskey firearm prosecution in St Louis

You think of it as protecting the "guy who maybe did it" because of the presumption of innocence in the Anglo-American legal tradition. This presumption is not universal in history, and is still not universal now.
