Cover songs that you like better than the original

Sometimes a cover just eclipses the original because of superior talent, or sometimes a totally different arrangement just transforms a song. Richard Thompson's commented that "Oops I did it again",taken out of context, is actually a pretty good song:

CSNY, of course inspired this Joni Mitchell song, so it's only fitting that their version is awesomer than hers.

Dwight Yoakum singing Carmelita by Zevon.

Townes Van Zandt singing the Stone's Dead Flowers.

If you know either or of the artists with any depth, the song just flat works better.

Probably two of my fav songs period.
