Not the greatest prank The HiveMind ever pulled, but definitely a good one.

Stupid.

In 1998, Mick Foley won the online poll and they just took his name out and gave it to Clinton.

Also, why would Kim Jong Un winning be funny or unprecedented? They've already awarded it to Stalin (twice), Hitler, Ayatollah Khomeini, and Nixon.

I have no idea what kind of point you're trying to make her. Those other examples all make sense.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

I dunno I thought the prank was supposed to be funny because either:
1. KJU isn't really a person of the year
2. KJU is ruler of an oppressive country

And as I pointed out 1 and 2 have already been done.

Ease of execution: 7
Hilarity: 2
Originality: 0

I clicked on the link and checked out the next three people that were listed:

A robot (i.e. not a person)
A CEO of a predatory monopolist
A politician who just tried to abolish his country's judiciary

It's a pretty weak field.

The funniest thing about this is that anyone thinks anyone else cares about a Time Magazine online poll.

It may be satire but that doesn't mean it isn't true.
