Taking the valve off a keg

Post by Luke »

I picked an empty keg up from a curbside garbage collection which I'd like to fill with water and empty as needed. There are YouTube tutorials about how to do it to create strongman kegs, but I'm led to believe there's a possibility you can turn them into ballistic missiles if you're not careful. I'm thinking of paying someone qualified to do it, but has anyone here done it before?

Been a while... you just need to release the residual pressure first.

Press down on the valve ball with a screwdriver. There's vids on youtube. Get a screwdriver and pliers and you can do it. You don't need to pay someone for this.

Thank you! Been awhile since I've been able to say it given the forum going offline.
