My predictions about almost anything are usually wrong. My feeling is Trump is going to get it. Which means he is likely to lose.

As the side note, I find the outrage with Trump fascinating. From the first day in office whatever he said or did was interpreted as bad by the majority of the media. I think the real reason for it is that he does not belong to the "club', the crowd that has been in politics for generations, the Ivi league boys (and occasional girls), and sneaked his way in using the system. Even his election campaign was considerably cheaper than Clinton's or Obama's years earlier.

In any case, the drama is mildly entertaining.

2 weeks ago I thought Biden would win by a decent margin but the vibe in the country has changed in the last few days. Trumpistas are strutting and Bidenites are very nervous.

If Trump wins by a commanding margin the American left and its corporate media wing will melt. Violence, of course, will ensue.

I don't mind states having latitude on how they conduct their elections, but there should be some basic federal standards that need to be met, including a definitive count on Election Day. This is not the 19th century and ballots don't travel by horse and carriage anymore.

Bush -v- Gore didn’t get resolved until 12 December. In this case, the Fat Lady is clearing her throat already.

Look at how close this election is. Setting aside the dubious wisdom of your proposal, there's not going to be any amendment to the Constitution any time soon.

Republicans defended something like 23 seats in the Senate and are likely to hold the majority there and this morning were within striking distance in the House. I'm limiting my news intake, so that may no longer be the case, but for both chambers to be in play for Republicans is mind boggling.

Down ballot, they didn't flip a single state legislature.

Even at the presidential level, Biden (or any warm body) should have blown the doors off of an historically unpopular president hamstrung by a public health crisis, yet here we are.

I agree we aren't going to see an amendment. Since that is what it would take to correct the current system, we'll have to muddle along as-is. It takes time to count votes.

If the states just switched from winner take all electoral votes to some sort of apportionment scheme, we'd be done already.
