Turns out I don’t digest whatever it is that makes beets red.

A decade ago I had a kidney stone, and there was frank blood in my urine at the time. Couple of years later I go to the toilet in the morning and voila, looks like blood again. Annoying more than anything. So I get myself tested with the Dextrostix - all perfect. Then I realised it was the borsh my wife made the day before. Lots of beetroot in it.
