Spiral (French name Engrenages, which means gears.)
It's a gritty police procedural set in Paris. Each season runs 8 to 12 episodes and focuses a detective squad trying to solve a murder. There are other minor story arcs involving the defense lawyers, judges, and prosecutors.
To sum it up, it's more or less a French version of The Wire. If you loved the Wire and Law and Order, you'll at least like Spiral.
I'm on season 3. For me, it's interesting to try to understand the relationship between the police, the prosecutor and the judges. (As best I can tell, in the French Napoleonic Code, the judges resemble our prosecutors.)
On Netflix with subtitles.
After the first episode, you'll be running to Bing search to look for noodz of the red-headed public defender.
