Book: Fires on the Plain
Book about a jap soldier in the Philippines at the end of WWII who gets stranded, and slowly goes nuts while his fellow soldiers get routed and decimated. An easy read, page turner. Gets my rec.

Good book. I liked the movie too.

Which version? The 1959 one? They just came out with a remake in 2014. I'm going to Netflix one of them.vern wrote:Good book. I liked the movie too.

Shit, I didn't know they did a remake! Thanks for the heads up.
I'll check it out but I don't have high hopes. Japanese cinema has been pretty weak since Ozu and Kurosawa kicked.
