This 2006 DVD from netflix is about the little known battle of Attu in WWII.
Two members of the US Army that fought there were on the DVD. At one point in the video one of the soldiers asked the
other one how Attu compared with Okinawa. The one doing the asking kind of pestered the other one to give a nummerical
comparison. They finally settled on stating that Attu was ten times worse.
The numbers of American soldiers involved was relatively small compared to many other battles with the Japanese. That is
probably why the battle lacks the publicity so many others received.
Descriptions of the conditions during the 13 gay battle sound about as brutal as a "Grunt" can undergo.
Hats off to the soldiers of Attu.
