Bountiful Beets

Living at 4300 ft. I noticed a decline in endurance and general energy. I tried this stuff and it helps a lot with feeling not so rundown. It's a blend of beet juice and beet powder with a little cherry flavor. I have two or sometimes three scoops a day.

Since it seems that the blood's oxygen carrying capacity is a factor in surviving the virus, maybe it will keep some of you out of the ER long enough to flatten the curve.

Thanks for the reco. Where to find, online or supplement isle at food store?

I eat a lot of beets, and I know beet juice was big with cyclists and triathletes when I was wrenching on bikes.
I also take a blood multi called Hemoplex. I was low on iron in my last blood test, and the Dr. recommended it.

More importantly than keeping you out of ICu, does Bountiful Beets turn your poop red?

The redness on the strapon was due to excessive force (not that I'm complaining) not the beets.

I got it in the supp section of Wally World but amazon also has it. The label says 30 servings but I get more than that. It tastes decent and mixes well if you shake it. I consider it a good value at $15.

I've been on the beet bandwagon for quite awhile. I just drink about 6 ounces or so in the mornings. I also add pomegranate juice to it as well. Both piss and shit have that tinge of redness. Oh well.

Picked some up. Been using it for about a week now and can confirm the good taste, pretty easy to mix.
Been tossing it in the glass with a scoop of vital greens or whatever the greens powder the wife buys is and killing two birds with one stone every morning.
Thanks for hipping me to the beet powder!

Not being snarky, I'm not sure I understand the benefit. What's this used for?

Increased endurance.

It might have other benefits:

"In the human studies to date, beetroot supplementation has been reported to reduce blood pressure, attenuate inflammation, avert oxidative stress, preserve endothelial function and restore cerebrovascular haemodynamics. Furthermore, although beyond the scope of this review, several studies have now established beetroot supplementation as an effective means of enhancing athletic performance" (see above studies).

There's also evidence that it increases hemoglobin. My n=1 is that my HCT is 50.7, so I'm going to stop taking the beets since I have to keep it below 52 to stay on TRT.

As an endurance guy, I'll take a hematocrit count as high as I can get it :supz:
I have definitely been feeling better since starting the beets a couple weeks ago. I'll have an FTP test after another month or so, and will report back if it's improved significantly.

What's the dosage on this? I tried a tablespoon/day and noticed no results apart from disliking the taste. I'm doing pretty long runs so I'd expect to notice if there was an effect.

One scoop, 10 grams according to the label. I have found that one scoop helps noticeably.

Got it, I'll compare to the label of stuff I got that Shaf recommended. I may be going light.

Edit, I'm actually taking more of the active ingredient. I'll give it another go but was surprised to notice no effect.

I love Dana Loesch's commercials pitching it. It's cable news porn.
