Not quite same same but I was walking through a bike shop a while back just looking around killing time and had to supress the urge to impulse buy this bike:

Where I live it's traffic, lights and texting drivers. I only feel safe at like 15mph or less, but out in an open area that fuji bike would be fun.

You could probably take down some good size hills if you got used to it.

I ride a single speed cross bike to work most days, through the teeth of Atlanta traffic. You just get used to surfing the cars.

I like the single speed because there's less to go wrong and maintain.
I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog.

Sounds fun, Al. I want a single speed for the same reasons, and I think the single speed teaches you how to pedal hard in all sorts of situations.

It's a different beast out here, there's not heavy traffic -- people just don't look around a lot when they drive.

A lady almost hit me the other day because she was looking right as she was making a left turn without a signal.

A friend got ran over when someone ran a red light due to glare.

Another friend got ran over when someone slammed on the gas while backing up and not looking behind them.

All this happened in a 2-block stretch right by my house.

Scary scary.

My cousin scored this for me from a dude off Craigslist for 75 bucks.

He says its in excellent condition and for 75 bucks I won't go apeshit if someone steals it from our underground parking lot.

Apparently the seller bought it years ago and just never got around to really using it. Now his wife wants him to get rid of it.

PS. This is another photo I took from google.

Found this site that makes 26" BMX cruisers -- this would be perfect for me -- just very expensive.
