From Carson's spokesperson, before the announcement...
“Dr. Carson feels he has no government experience,” Armstrong Williams said, “he’s never run a federal agency. The last thing he would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency.”

HUD's been crippled for decades and, to my knowledge, has never made any POTUS look good.

How hard can HUD be? It isn't exactly Brain Surgery.

In Carson's defense, he was mentioned more times on "The Wire" than every previous HUD Secretary put together.
