Re: Brav-fuckin'-o...the first episode of "The Americans"
Hey guys, I can't keep this thing going all by myself so c'mon and help a brother out.
Okay let's talk about the last episode! Dang, grandma spymaster just drove a wedge in between Phillip and Elizabeth. Was she just being a cunt wanting to fuck things up for them or did she really mean it when she said it's doesn't work i.e. them being a "real" husband and wife and doing the job? What a fucking mess. They just can't seem to get it together.
We did get some decent t&a this episode and the East German assassin wasn't fucking around. Watching Elizabeth listen to the shortwave radio broadcasts to pick up coded instructions was interesting...isn't that shit still going on today? I thought someone on here posted a link to something where there was a live feed of someone just reading off numbers like that...maybe I saw that somewhere else. I guess as sophisticated as we have become in some things, the old ways of doing things still have merit.
Caught one major fuckup. There was a scene where Elizabeth and Phillip were talking and she said, "it is what it is." Obviously that wasn't a phrase that was used in '81.
They didn't hesitate to take care of the East German when necessary. Did it look like he took round to the dome but it ricocheted off?
Fuck...two weeks till then next episode? My panties are in a serious wad right now.

I'm predicting the old Russian Grandma handler of Liz & Phillip doesn't make it to the end of season two, maybe season one. She was the badass Mtn. Momma on Justified with the criminal empire. I think she gets to do a little wet work before her demise. The bald FBI guy also has the hots and suspicions on John boy's secretary. Good story line developing with that.Shapecharge wrote:Hey guys, I can't keep this thing going all by myself so c'mon and help a brother out.

Re: Brav-fuckin'-o...the first episode of "The Americans"
Amadore is going to fuck with Philip and he's going to get done hard! He might have been a Marine but he's no match for Phil.
They (Phil and Liz) are going to find out Stan is fucking the Russian bitch.
Fuck Liz and her shit. They fuck people as a part of the job. She's going to be pissed Phil dipped it in his ex, who he will never see, while she's sticking her fingers up dude's assholes while she sucks them off?
Look at the horseface he had to fuck this episode. OK body but if I was Phil I;d throw an S&M hood at her and say "Hey, it's my thing, it's what I like."
In 81, durring that argument he'd shoot back with "And you fucked a nigger! You did it while you were carrying my child you fucking cunt! Now get in the kitchen, make me a sandwich and prepar for some sodomy tonight!"" and being Russian that would be considered worse. Russians HATE blacks. They make Kaz look like Ron Pearlman.
If I was him and she keeps it up, snuff her, take the kids over to Stan's and cut a deal for a few million and live the good life, just with Hi-Power on him at all times.

Just checking in to see how you boys are enjoying your soap opera.
Men should not be engaged by "storylines" happening to fictional people on a television.
It's pathetic, really.

Re: granny's wedge
Per Rezun and Mitrokhin the Sov's at all times played agents off each other as a way of preventing conspiracy. Granny's wedge fits the protocol nicely. Having said that, the flip flopping Love you/Hate you thing with our two spies is starting to seem excessivley contrived. Mitrokhin writes of Some Czech agents Karl and Hana Koecher who used sex to gain secrets from CIA, pentagon and other feds. No word on the longevity of the Koecher's marriage after their career in espionage.

Re: Brav-fuckin'-o...the first episode of "The Americans"
Time to dust the cobwebs off of this most awesome thread. We had a two week hiatus during the NCAA Tourney, which by the way, elicited not a single fucking thread. I thought about starting one but most of you fucking white bread country fried low T fuckers wouldn't participate so I didn't bother. It was an excellent tourney...but I digress.
Lots of things have happend in the past two episodes. Once again, Shaggy would ejaculate in his hand-painted tighty whities if he saw the short lived knife fight between the unarmed Phillip and the short bald FBI agent (Amador). I got the sense that Phillip didn't want to do it but had little choice. Now I'm not a FBI Counter-Intell guy nor do I know one but, really would they back in the day just go grab a KGB dude and kill him in retaliation for one of their guys disappearing? I was a little surprised to see Stan (FBI Clearasil Agent) actually shoot the KGB equivalent of Ron Howard from Happy Days in the back of the head.
I like the way the brother decided he wasn't going to go to the Soviet Union. Well played...went out strong. What say you my fellow fans? Proto, stay out!!

The brother went down the way brothers go down, by the cops.
FBI guy is cool. Surprised he capped that guy, but he's getting an edge to him now that's good for the show.
More later, I'm in a hospital waiting room.
Everything's fine, thanks.

Re: Brav-fuckin'-o...the first episode of "The Americans"
Shape,
Thanks for the concern. Grandma's just fine, except for being 92 and a near vegetable. That doesn't really take away from how I feel about The Americans though.
I really like this show.
I have been pretty neutral to positive on Clearasil FBI guy since the beginning. Like I said in my earlier post, I like the edge he's showing. Dude's fraying around the edges a little. It was fun seeing how close the FBI was getting to Philip and Elizabeth.
Interested to see what happens with our favorite KGB agents. I was convinced they'd be running some near double agent shit by now, but it hasn't happened, obviously.
Amador's character cracked me up, but it was pretty clear in the last couple episodes he would have to die. I wonder what'll happen with Granny. She's a fucking beast, and I am looking for her to be in the middle of something big before this season is over.
re: The Brother. He went down the way brothers go down. Hail of bullets, puffing a lung dart and firing one handed til he got dropped. He may very well have been the most committed character on the show.
What I think will be interesting is to see how they bring the heat back around to Philip and Elizabeth. The black guys were the link between FBI and KGB sleeper cell.

Granny is a beast. I figure Philip or Elizabeth will kill her. And I figure it'll be over the kids. My money is on Philip.
The FBI guy is growing on me. I'd like to see some backstory on his time with the white supremacists. Amador was disposable but I didn't expect him to go that quick.
I liked the German assassin and I loved how he died.
The whole super knee grow finish was a bit thin for me. It'd been more plausible for me if he had made a runner and then got capped.

Re: Brav-fuckin'-o...the first episode of "The Americans"
What the fuck buttmunchers? Do I have to do everything around here? Christ. What about last weeks episode? Nice flashbacks with Elizabeth and Zhukov. The dog metaphor was very good. Too bad he got zapped. I thought he was pretty cool.
I think I would hit on Stan's wife before Elizabeth but I would certainly be trying to dick down both of them if given the chance.
You knew Stan was gonna crumble when sexy Russian double agent Nina dropped that robe. Hell even the pope would pop a woody in that scenario. Nina getting told about the bug in Weinberger's office was serious shit...if she tells Stan about that you know her ass would get sent back to the motherland. Wonder how she's gonna play this.
I thought Elizabeth was gonna ask Philip to move back home but once she realized he got his own place she clammed up...hence Zhukov's comment about there being no surrender in her.
How hilarious was that line she used to hook the CIA dude, what's a four letter word to end the sentence, do you wanna...?

I was a little behind. The one day I have to be out of the house early is Thursday, so I often have to DVR it and catch up.
I think it's going to be interesting to see what happens from the CIA guy. You know there will be some sort of a lead that comes about since they didn't off him.
Also, how about the last scene with Granny?
And Nina... damn

That's and pics of her giving him head might go a long way in Arkady's plan to turn Stan?
If you think the KGB might mean you harm, oh because they have already kidnapped you once, don;t let fucking old ladies in to use the fucking phone.
Ah, she wants him back., fickle bitch.
I hope Phillip tears her stitches when he tears her ass hole.
I like the way they fucked with you at the end with the daughter going in the laundry room as part of the larger montage and the kick ass use of "Games without Frontiers".
Show paid off and set up next season nice!

I'm going to miss Mags Bennett KGB super agent.
Take care and please.....................stay safe.

Mags is the realest spy on this show. Everyone else has questioned the powers that be, but ole' Granny is a fucking gangster. I don't think she's going away.

Re: Brav-fuckin'-o...the first episode of "The Americans"
Finally got a chance to watch it last night after a couple of Crown and Cokes. Dylna pretty much nailed it. I thought granny was superb. Loved the way she took out the CIA guy. Tazed him, shot him up with some kind of tranquilizer, cooly and deftly cut his carotid (right?) and then talked to him as he bled out. That might just be one of the most awesome takedowns I've seen on tv or in the movies. I wonder if next season, if she's still on the series, perhaps Elizabeth and Phillip will realize she's solid.
I fucking completely forgot about that song from Peter Gabriel and it was perfectly placed.
This show wrapped up it's season as awesomely as possible.
I do wonder about Richard Thomas...no matter that what like 35-40 years has gone by since the Waltons but the fucker is still John Boy. Who the fuck knows, he could have maybe been the best James Bond that ever lived but we'll never know. That has got to suck.
Back to Peter Gabriel...I'd pretty much forgotten all about him. His big hit album "So" has some good stuff on it. May have to give it a listen.
Edit: Just wikied "Games Without Frontiers." That is not "she's so popular" being sung by Kate Bush in the background. It sounds like it but it's actually French for "games without frontiers." It's not quite being pronounced correctly.
Secret message just for Proto (wear your decoder glasses!): kcuf uoy
