Attorney was second thing to do...first was to hire a competent ghost writer to write the story of what happened that was reasonably credible and worth reading.

Nafod has it right! Google "Hypothermia" and you'll understand exactly what happened to you. Beginning with the water temp there was in the low 40s. Then going out of the water into the wind with wet clothing cooled you down rapidly even further. You didn't drown and your heart didn't stop completely and you didn't die. Then correct that sensational bullshit story in your mag rag.

No where in his story did he mention sucking two dicks at once.johno wrote:At least you died doing what you loved.

Re: A brief death on the Colorado
There is probably something to this. I did not register water temp, ever, as I was primarily concerned with breathing. I do not know how long I was in the water. Some people have said as much as 20 minutes. It's 45/6 degrees. I may well have gone hypothermic which could account for my bad decision to swim against the eddy current at the end.nafod wrote:In the back of my mind I was wondering what impact the fact that you weren't appropriately dressed for immersion had on all this. Long time in water, high exertion, not able to generate heat afterwards, rapid cooling.
Just watched a neat episode on PBS Nova about the science of cold, and they talked about and had on the show a number of people who survived cardiac arrest, including a woman who was clinically dead for three hours with a core temp of 57 degrees. Warmed her up, and she walked out of the hospital the next day.
I bet the cold had a play in this.
Thing is: I never felt cold. I'd been fighting the rapid and the current so hard that I felt I was radiating heat when I got out. Even after I woke up, I wasn't cold. They had a sleeping bad over my top side, but I was lying in wet sand and didn't feel cold.
But yeah, I think the hypothermia stuff is big in whatever it was that happened.

You had a little bit of water in your lungs, right? Has anyone mentioned the cold shock/gasp reflex? It's possible that only a little bit got into your lungs but the gasp reflex caused your throat to close up so even though you might have had a bit of water in there you also had partially filled lungs of air but no exchange was taking place...coupled with the urgency of the situation next thing you know you're waking up.

Are we done with the Homeland thread?

You jump into 45 degree water with no immersion stuff on, and you can actually hear your balls retract.
Don’t believe everything you think.

Not yet broheim...we've got Sunday's finale which will no doubt, at least according to Lenny, be as improbable as Timmah's fake drowning story.baffled wrote:Are we done with the Homeland thread?

Yes, one of the docs mentioned that as well. The deal is, while all the turning, blue pulse/no pulse shit was going on, I was unconscious. So I'm the last person who would know what really happened.Shapecharge wrote:You had a little bit of water in your lungs, right? Has anyone mentioned the cold shock/gasp reflex?
