Yeah, and if Jordan really wanted to piss them off, they'd leave the bodies of the terrorists they executed hanging and let the vultures feed on them.Pinky wrote:No. Burning the body of a Muslim is considered extremely offensive. I don't think it would make sense for a Muslim country to try to out-do ISIS in offending Muslims. This act gives governments in that area an opportunity to portray ISIS as a gang of foreign-born pretenders who aren't "real" Muslims.

This is some high speed/low drag dumbfuckery, right here. According to the PREZZZ, Americans shouldn't get on their high horse and condemn barbaric behavior because YA KNOW WHITE PEOPLE A THOUSAND YEARS AGO...
Give me a fucking break, nigger. If this isn't proof positive that we have an oppositionist party Marxist who secretly loathes 'Murrica running the damn show then I don't know what else to say. Muslim gets burned alive by other Muslims, Americans of all stripes react in justified horror and anger, fatherless black bastard of a President calls for calm and understanding by drawing ridiculous parallels from ancient history. BTW, if you're going to comment on the Crusades it might behoove one to actually learn something about those campaigns and why they came about (hint: a bunch of crackers didn't just up and decide to invade the Ottomans because JEEBUS AND MEH BIBLE DONE TOLD ME TO DO IT!!!!!!!!1111)
I can only shake my head and laugh.

After addressing the media, President George Bush talks with his hosts during his visit to the Islamic Center of Washington, D.C. Sept. 17, 2001. "And it is my honor to be meeting with leaders who feel just the same way I do. They're outraged, they're sad," said the President during his remarks. "They love America just as much as I do.". Why is Brick Tamland standing behind GWB?
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

The US used napalm bombs and flame throwers extensively in Vietnam and previous wars. Jordan should do that and just burn those mother fuckers wholesale.

Re: Burned Alive
Incendiaries have been used for centuries, right, up to and including the ultimate incendiaries so far, the nukes dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which by the way I am told killed fewer people and fewer civilians than the firebombing of Dresden at the end of WWII. Flamethrowers were used to clear trenches in WWI and to kill pillboxes in WWII. Of course running up on a heavily fortified machine gun nest to torch the occupants is a little different from torching a prisoner, and especially from recording and releasing the video.
They used napalm in Vietnam but the main similarity I see here isn't the violence, it's the power of video of violence. Seeing video footage of the war on TV every night was a new thing back then. They say it weakened the American public's resolve and ultimately that's what decided the outcome. That's predictable - a nebulous abstract thing like a proxy war between communism and capitalism requires some hard thinking and will come to no clear answer; a knee jerk reaction to watching the bloodshed on video takes very little effort.
I think this was a bad PR move on the vermin's part, time will tell. This kind of move, of course you may break the resolve of some of the weaker and strengthen the resolve of some of the stronger. The big mistake, I think, is the effect on the spectators. So far the Western world is having a hard time deciding how involved they want to get in this fight. From the Western perspective it seems hard to see this as anything but a fight between two sides that are both antagonistic to the West. So it's hard to get fired up about figuring out which side hates us less and taking their side. But burn a prisoner, well, now you may have tipped the Western public opinion into dropping some bombs on you.
Reading the tea leaves: US involvement will ramp up, and in six months when outrage fades, smug bedwetters inside and outside the US will be pointing out how American bombs aimed at these vermin immolate more civilians in collateral damage than the vermin does in videos.

Re: Burned Alive
I feel like it would be a bad oversight if a thread that involves burning people and Vietnam doesn't send a shout out to Thich Quang Duc, the Buddhist monk that immolated himself in 1963 in protest of government repression of religious expression. You have to respect a man that burns himself rather than some innocent (or guilty!) to make his point.
