It was still the prime Hofstra drinking spot at that point. About a year or two before, some rugby guys sold it to some football guys. I haven't been back since the end of that year so I don't know how long it was around after that.Cave Canem wrote:I didn't know McHebe's was still open in '91.The Ginger Beard Man wrote:Last year of college. At that stage, the wall had come down. I was vulnerable but still living the good life. Was more of a Hasselhoff fan.

A bit more than a year after college graduation. Glad those days are over. Older is actually (blessedly) shaping up to be better.

I was 16, smashing high school girls and steady stacking paper.

Yeah, in college. Transitioning from wise boy to foolish man.
Don't forget The Four Horsemen. No glam, not grunge, but... I got their album the same trip to the record store.

Pearljam and Temple of the Dog were and are abominations picking over the corpse of Mother Love Bone.
Public Enemy, Apocalypse '91
Fugazi, Steady Diet of Nothing
Mudhoney, EGBDF
Primal Scream's Screamadelica
Cypress Hill's self-titled debut
lowlites...Hole and U2 put out critically acclaimed shite
all of them trying to outshine the bright spots of 1990

Hole often gets written off as being a vanity project that wouldn't have been funded if Kobain hadn't pulled some strings for her, but both Live Through This and Celebrity Skin are albums full of tight, fast, well composed hard rock tracks.

I still don't like her. But I'll admit to liking her more than U2.

I could never stand Smashing Pumpkins. Next time you listen to one of their songs, picture the lead singer sitting on the toilet with severe constipation. You probably won't like them anymore either.

In Portland, Seattle or DC?
Seems like they were on heavy rotation between those three for about 10 years.

1991. Married with 2 kids. I was listening to Rush Limbaugh on the radio and I had a few CD's (actually might have still had some vinyl back then). Who is this Nirvana?
Bread and circuses.
