I've been meaning to do this for a long time but kept forgetting. Joined today. Also plan to join a NY group as well.
And, as mentioned elsewhere, I wrote my state senator regarding forthcoming gun control legislation.

We're in a critical moment and it's time to act. Those of us who are conservative when it comes to the Bill of Rights have been complacent too long in the BushBama administrations. It's time to let them know that no more encroachment will be allowed. None.

If I have my history correct, a lot of the early gun laws were specifically designed to keep the southern black man unable to defend himself against the white man's depredations.

Also interesting to me that libs want to keep honest black men in the hood unarmed when the poor bastards are surrounded by ultra-armed gang bangers and police that aren't typically johnny on the spot in their neighborhoods. Even more interesting that many blacks want that patronizing and emasculating treatment.

The reason, of course, is that if people are scared of flying, they don't get on planes as frequently and the economy takes a dip. As tragic as school shootings are, they have no economic impact - other than perhaps a bump in guns and ammo sales as scared people stock up - and, therefore, politicians really couldn't give a shit.
