Thanks for the heads-up FC.
Secretly I'm hoping they find it's a 'non-conformist Higgs'.

For decades, experts have been trying to come up with analogies to illustrate how the Higgs mechanism works. One of the best-known was proposed in 1993 by David Miller, a physicist at University College London. Imagine looking down from a balcony in a ballroom, watching a cocktail party below. When just plain folks try to go from one end of the room to the other, they can walk through easily, with no resistance from the party crowd. But when a celebrity like Justin Bieber shows up, other partygoers press around him so tightly that he can hardly move ... and once he moves, the crowd moves with him in such a way that the whole group is harder to stop.
The partygoers are like Higgs bosons, the just plain folks are like massless particles, and Bieber is like a massive Z boson.

Re: Higgs-Boson
What's really important is if this Higgs guy can work some decent pussy out of his discovery. It's just assumed you'd be knee deep in all kinds of ass if you were the lead singer in a Bon Jovi cover band...quite a different thing to be the guy who discovered what the other 96 percent of the universe is comprised of. Maybe this Higgs guy in a few years will be working on another experiment and he forgets his watch and steps back into a room to get it when the door suddenly closes and he's zapped with all kinds of photons, neutrinos, quarks, bosons, what-the-fuckons etc. then he just disappears. Then he shows up later floating around all blue and ripped like he's a @Fit Gaymes champion with his cock-n-ballz hangin' out. It's happened before. This shit is about to get even realer.

Atta Boy Shape my brother. Not much longer before mankind realizes that nothing has weight and from nothing comes something. I am God and I've known since long before there was nothing.

Re: Higgs-Boson
Particles can be charged, either negatively, positively or be without charge (neutral). This changes how they interact with just about everything around them.
The Higg Boson is the particle responsible for "charging" particles with mass. In this case, however, there cannot be a negative charge. Zero charges are possible (light), small charges are possible (a marble), and extremely gigantic charges are found, too (planets, etc.).
So it's like a charge, but instead of electricity, it's mass.

http://www.independent.ie/world-news/sc ... 59307.htmlHe (Lederman) also pointed out that his publishers rejected his preferred title of "Goddamn particle" (in recognition of its elusiveness) in favour of "God particle".
Peter Higgs has always despised the term, but it stuck.

It could create a mini-black hole which will swallow the earth so we've got that going for us.

That's already happened. We're in it right now. Can't you tell?
