Re: let's play football
Sounds like a Norman Rockwell-esque community full of fine examples for their youth.
Four boys would pin the freshman down in the locker room, and two would stand guard. The seventh would howl, turn off the lights, then carry out the penetration, according to the new claims.
Now parents used to applauding their sons' conquests on the field are upset they have been benched for the duration.
"I've never seen so much dedication out of my son, and I want him to play the rest of this season," a mother said at a school meeting to the roar of applause. Despondent players vented frustration over not being able to finish what they so confidently started.

“No one was hurt, no one died — I don’t understand why they’re being punished,” Madeline Thillet, who said she was the mother of a football team captain, told the board of education at a meeting last week.

Crap, I thought that you were making that up.nafod wrote:One of them has committed to play for Penn State.
Sayreville also currently has Myles Hartsfield, a three-year starter who in early June gave his verbal commitment to Penn State.

Let me guess...probably subpar academics in the school, history of success in the football program and a good ole boy for a coach who has been there forever. The only thing that I wouldn't place cash on is whether this is an inner city or conservative community.

But highly successful in a single activity performed by teenage kids which gave the town their sense of self-esteem.The school had been ranked 241st in the state of 328 schools in 2012, after being ranked 232nd in 2010 out of 322 schools listed.
The football team won the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III state sectional championship in 1997 and the Central Jersey Group IV title in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
The town held a vigil to support him a few days ago.The decorated career of the coach, George Najjar, in his 20th year at Sayreville and a recent inductee into the New Jersey Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame, has come under scrutiny, as have the members of his staff, three of whom have teamed with Mr. Najjar for more than 10 years.
An assistant happened to be arrested for steroid possession last week. Fortunately, the media hasn't decided to link the events yet.
The superintendent who ended the season happened to have been hired a few months ago. The former guy was a guy who had worked his way through the system. The new guy doesn't realize what an honor it is to be ass raped by your peers. They built a perennial contender, with 18 consecutive New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association playoff appearances, a proud fan base and an active booster club, the Sayreville Touchdown Club, which earned more than $244,000 through merchandise sales and donations from 2008 to 2012, according to tax documents.
Parents complained that canceling the season would hurt players who have bet their futures on football.
despite...Parents of some players on the Sayreville High School football team have been talking to lawyers about possibly suing the school system to reinstate the now cancelled season
Sayreville also currently has Myles Hartsfield, a three-year starter who in early June gave his verbal commitment to Penn State...no other players were receiving heavy interest yet from major programs

and elswhere in this great nation:
http://www.nj.com/middlesex/index.ssf/2 ... nique.htmlAllegations that members of the Sayreville High School football team subjected freshman players to anal penetration bear an eerie resemblance to dozens of cases around the country.
In Colorado, the hazing case involved a pencil. In Los Angeles, a broken flag pole. In Iowa, a jump-rope handle. In Missouri, a water bottle. In Vermont, pool cues.
In New York City, coaches were fired after accusations that three members of the track team assaulted younger teammates, with one reportedly saying, "You need a good fingering, you freshman.”

Re: let's play football
Typical primate behavior...and I mean that in all seriousness. There's no horror one can imagine that can't be carried out in reality by "the group" or "the pack". Anal group horseplay, burning and looting, or gassing 8 million Jews...group dynamics strip away individual identity, and then accountability and personal responsibility go out the window. Why did you stick your finger up Tommy's ass? Well, because Joe, Frank, Sammy, and Guido did it...and it was funny...because everybody laughed. This is why groups need rules, oversight, and boundaries. That's the domain and responsibility of leaders, and these types of programs have none. So, not so much a "football issue" in my mind, so much as every group, team, or organization is always one step away from Lord of the Flies. Social pressure, unrealistic expectations, and lack of control are all that's needed to strip away the veil of humanity and reveal the meat eating monkey that is better suited towards the violence and domination needed for survival in the claw and fang past or the Mad Max future. Anal/oral humiliation games are pretty horrible in the context of modern society, but it's really just fun and games compared to the really gritty stuff that history is littered with. Mass murder is the house...fingers up the ass are just a festoon on the front door. We can exhibit some pretty vile behavior...cuz that's what primates do.

School officials on Thursday canceled the remaining two football games at a suburban Philadelphia high school after concluding rookie players had been subjected to "humiliating and inappropriate" initiation rites.
"I want to be clear that these activities did not result in physical harm, but were not harmless," he said.
All varsity and junior varsity coaches were also suspended pending further investigation, the superintendent said, citing the failure of staff to properly supervise team activities. Police said they would investigate whether any of the activity was criminal.
Central Bucks Regional Police Department Chief James Donnelly said the school's principal had told him that one of the initiation rites involved placing towels over players' heads and leading them into the shower. He said players referred to the practice as "waterboarding," but that he didn't consider fit the definition. Waterboarding is a form of torture in which water is poured over a cloth placed on a victim's face to simulate drowning.
