The book isn't anonymous sniping. Armstrong even contributed to the story and spoke with the reporters. It's an interesting and compelling story of the birth of US cycling and the doping culture.
It's also clear that Armstrong is an asshole and a fraud: he was doping pre-cancer, so we'll never truly know how good he was relative to LeMond and other giants that didn't have access to Armstrong's gear.
