One side is knee jerk assholery, the other is digging in their heels just because. If I were forced to side with one, I would side with those who don't want to be bullied into surrendering what amounts to a symbol of the deep south, more so than a symbol of 'racism' or slavery. As a fellow IGx'er pointed out on his FB page, if you're going to bitch about the confederate flag under the guise that it's racist, then you need to say the same of GB's Union Jack as that's the flag most of the slave ships sailed under.
