Talked to my parents who live in south Florida this weekend. My father is fairly convinced that if the government doesn't sacrifice Zimmerman by either killing him or finding some way to prosecute him that there are going to be severe race riots, worse than Rodney King.

What really cooked off the whole Trayvon uproar was that the police didn't arrest the guy, i.e., it looked like the system was covering it up, ergo, the system was part of the problem. In this case, it looks like the system is trying to work.

Unfortunately, Zimmerman didn't have a friend standing around to video his third-rate Batman impression.

But he was arrested the night of the shooting. (Being handcuffed and taken to the station in the back of a cop car constitutes an arrest regardless of what cops try to call it.) They just didn't charge him.
