Give it one more shot. Perhaps by the third installment I'm sure someone will care that you don't care.

I'm pretty sure that that is the only movie I've seen than he was in. He wasJezzy Bell wrote:I loved him in Charlie Wilson's War. RIP.

So he was in rehab and still relapsed on heroin. Are you asserting that he was weak willed?Batboy2/75 wrote:Maybe in the fith or sixth post of this dumb thread you'll move on and morn the death of an actual worth while human being.Blaidd Drwg wrote:Give it one more shot. I'm asserting that he's not worth the attention. No more than the local used car salesman or unemployed bartender found dead in the local roach motel with a needle stuck in their arm. I'll save my sympathies for his children and family.BucketHead wrote:So he was in rehab and still relapsed on heroin. I can never figure this stuff out. We lost at 20 year kid to an heroin OD in my town 2 weeks ago.
3 kids under 10, a stable partner, an Oscar, one of the top 10 actors of his generation, fame, fortune, and you put a needle in your arm. Not sniffing coke, smoking grass, getting falling down drunk.
Selfish and disgusting.

I don't think you go from 23 years sobriety directly to shooting up for fun. He was 46 and out of shape. Any number of issues could have resulted in a short-term prescription for painkillers, which he thought he could have handled, but couldn't. And it goes down from there.BFly wrote:3 kids under 10, a stable partner, an Oscar, one of the top 10 actors of his generation, fame, fortune, and you put a needle in your arm. So many celebrity's how died since 1980 that I am relatively unfazed now.

One way would be used to shooting heroin that is about 40% pure then getting a dose that is 90% pure.T>1200 wrote:How do you die from shooting up heroin? I know it happens, I just wonder how. Apparently these guys shoot all the time and are just fine. Then one time, they aren't? Why?

Proto, OD'ing on H is pretty easy if as noted, you don;t know the purity of your supply. It's especially easy of you mix it with a benzo. It's the benzos that kicks you off most of the time.

Nope...totally depends on who it is regardless of skin color.Fuzzy Dunlop wrote:I'd assume the overall sentiment would be "welp, another drug addict nig bites the dust" not "oh, what a poor tortured soul, he was a brilliant actor!"Turdacious wrote:How would the opinions of those on this thread who criticized his choices be different?Fuzzy Dunlop wrote:
Good riddance. Takes a giant fucking pussy to leave behind a wife and kids to the spike. If he was black I'm sure there'd be a much different sentiment around here.
If Kanye West succumbed to a drug overdose, I wouldn't laugh or rejoice any harder than if one of those bible beating Duck Dynasty homophobes accidentally ventilated their own skull cap while cleaning a shotgun.
Along those lines, there are plenty of people who are darker than me that I would be saddened to see their untimely passing.
I liked Hoffman in just about everything that he was in. By every outward measure and metric that Hollywood seems to reward he should have been long ago forgotten or relegated to the type of shit stuff he was thrown in Twister and Boogie Nights. As it was, he had a quirky charisma, slightly offbeat delivery, and an incredible ability to immerse himself into the role he was playing. He was that rare actor that could make you forget that you were watching a guy play a role. He was just damned good, and it's hard to say why...he just was. When he was on screen, he stole the show just about every time.
I feel sorry for him, the lady in his life, and the kids. Fucking sucks. What a waste.

I guess one has to have a hobby. Beats the hell out of Drwgs pastime of chasing everyone in a thread that insulted his favorite deceased fat heroin addict actor and human waste of space.Blaidd Drwg wrote:DARTH wrote:I'm having a candlelight vigil for him on my Facebook page, right now.
