An actual test, along with the so-called ruler test in common use in the the early 1900s among upper class Black American societies and families to determine if a Black person was sufficiently white to gain admittance or acceptance. If your skin was darker than a brown paper bag, you did not merit inclusion. Thousands of Black institutions including the nation's most eminent Black fraternity -- Phi Alpha Phi, Howard Univiersity, and numerous church and civic groups all practiced this discriminiation. The practice has 19th Century antecedants with the Blue Blood Society and has not totally died out.

Haha, my Dad did something similar, but on our street.

My town was something like 85% white, then Asians, hispanics and like 2% negro.

Some brother bought a house down the street, during the boom, mind you.

Anyway, this asshole painted that motherfucker like an Easter egg. Pastel pink, green and maybe a little Paisley trim. They used to barbecue out front and had 20" gold rims that cost more than the car they spun on.

Word was he'd won some settlement and had bought a few other houses and defiled other neighborhoods in a similar manner. After about 9 months, I guess most of his nieces and nephews who were supposed to be "renting the place" got arrested or something, because he sold the house pretty quick and they painted it more appropriate colors for a neighborhood of that caliber.

Anyway, my dad told me, in no uncertain terms, don't fuck up a neighborhood like this.

Sort of related story...old white guy used to live down the street from me when I lived back in God's country (Arkansas). His public persona was "professional gambler", but in reality he was one of the area's biggest drug importers and distributors. Would always tell the neighbors "they work for us in some of our cleaning businesses we own". He bought the house on the corner for his mudsharkin' daughter, and there was another line of her weave headed black-assed ratchet friends going in and out of her front door at all hours. The Mishima household was not happy...line of nigger ratchets and stunt cocks going in and out of the house on the corner...another line of niggers going out of the dandy's house three doors down.

Well, I was about to get my law enforcement friends involved when his own stepson (who was distributing for him in another town) got caught in a sting, and decided to turn state's evidence on stepdaddy in order to cut a better deal. House on the corner was the first to go...mudshark and crew got kicked out, house went to the bank, and a co-worker of mine bought it and fixed it back up. Dandy down the road plead a deal and got sent to Ass Rape University for about 20 years (life sentence for him). His "poor and distraught" wife put their house up for sale so that she could move to the town where her son was dealing for them. Told my wife out in the yard one day that she was moving away because "there's just too many niggers around here." Oh, sweet irony. Their house got bought by a food engineer and his wife, and they kept the property from going to the bank and possibly the jigaboos.

Acquaintance of mine is a nigger trailer slumlord when he isn't busy coaching girls 12U softball. So he basically fixes sinks, collects checks from jigs, and hits flies to the outfield.
