I wasn't a fan of Pilsner Urquell when I bought a sixer last winter...I can't quit drinking 101.coop wrote:Never seen this Shiner selection before, only the Hefe around here most of the time. I've been drinking the pils lately... how does it compare to Czechvar or Urquell?ButterCupPowerRanch wrote:

I can't say exactly why, either. I'm a guy who loves beer and will give anything a fair shake, but I don't know enough about beer to say "this one is too hoppy" or whatever. I just drink beer and if I like a certain kind I'll buy it again.
Shiner 101 gets 4 out of 5 stars, though.
Yeungling Lager gets 5 out of 5.

Innis & Gunn Rum Cask
I had this last week. It's casked in white oak rum casks. While I have the sophisticated palate of a mongrel dog, I think I actually picked up the rum and oak tones. A bit pricey for my beer taste but a worthy experience. They also have a beer casked in Irish whiskey barrells.

Tried this last week. AFAIK distribution may be limited to central MO, but it was pretty good.

Got a mix pack of these... first foray into the Belgian sours. The Petrus Aged Pale makes my face pucker up like a Warhead. They are different, but good.

Okie beer

It's good, even if it is low point.

Sixpoint beers are all pretty good, Bengali is probably the best but I also like The Crisp and the Harbinger. What do you pay for that?cleaner464 wrote:

10 bucks or so for a four-pack. The beer is worth it IMHO.

Hey for you fans of wine, the fucking box of wine at Target, that contains four bottles for the price of one decent bottle, is the bombdiggity. I love the pinot and the malbec. Great simple wines for regular evening dinners. And, hehe, cool with an omelette for breakfast too. Recognize.

I had the Malbec last year, it was great. The cab-shiraz was really good two years ago, don't know if it still is. Both were far better than you would expect for the price.Shapecharge wrote:Hey for you fans of wine, the fucking box of wine at Target, that contains four bottles for the price of one decent bottle, is the bombdiggity. I just can't get into wine. Tastes like puckered ass to me.
Re: Right now I'm drinking
I think a key to being civilized is learning to appreciate a variety of things. I like most liquors, beers, and wines of decent quality. Of them all, wine was perhaps the hardest for me to get into, but a good red with a fine steak is a thing of beauty.
