Looks like Thomas hurt BMacNCheeze's feelings to where he's no longer his Facebook friend. Funny how this happened before Thomas could actually 'back' what he 'started'. This is the 1st annual CrossFit Endurance Series! The CFE series offer a challenging 5k 10K, 20k and team race. This race is 100% on looped trail run with hills and more hills. Along the course there will be ample aid stations.
5k $60
10k $80
20k $100
Team $500; CFE Members $335
Some thoughts on this:
1. $60 for a 5k is hilarity.
2. I'm sick of seeing BMack's bare chest every time I open something with CFE on it.
3. I hope an actual competitive runner wins this.
4. Shucks, if only I were a CFE member I would save $165 for my whole team.
5. Please tell me the aid stations are for the 20k only. Please.
There are some hardcore ultrarunners I know that could potentially run between 80-100k within their 10 hour limit & on mountainous terrain and possibly win the 5k and 10k the day before. But that's what happens when you're a specialized insect. But they'll never play BMacNCheeze's game unless he's willing to provide a fat cash prize like The North Face Endurance Challenge's $10,000 or if he was actually a respectable person in the ultra community. But since 95% of most ultrarunners think he's a fucking hosebag and you know he won't ever be able to get enough scratch to have a big enough prize purse, his challenge will never have any genuine elite athletes showing up to show them what an insect can do.Race Fees:
5k-$40
10k-$60
20k-$80
"Solo" Team Challenge-$125
Team-$500; CFE Teams-$335

He doesn't want genuine athletes showing up. He wants people that think finishing a 5k is a feat and he'll showcase the awesomeness of @FE.friedquads wrote:his challenge will never have any genuine elite athletes showing up to show them what an insect can do.

When we spin the pie again, the area cut out of the volume of the sphere equals fitness.

She's finishing races that BMacnCheezy couldn't even hope to finish. 4 day, no support runs, etc. Pacing friends for 50 miles and shit, not even a race she's doing, just helping someone out. That's pretty impressive.

I may be wrong, but I don't think Catra could give a rat's ass about managing CFE. She just lives to run, and isn't on a trip to tell other people what to do. If she did though, I suspect her programming would give a lot of endurance athletes a big boost, because she actually knows WTF she's doing. Basically, she walks the walk, or rather, runs the run.
Isn't CFE basically BMAC's personal vanity project to show us all how awesome he is? That's playing out okay so far, isn't it?

Spot on. Based on her blog, I believe she'd have people do more BW exercises that are muscular-endurance based, lots of core work, a bit of lifting and kb work, plyo drills, and working towards being able to run an average of 50-60 miles a week (peaking at 100-120 miles before certain key events).WildGorillaMan wrote:protobuilder wrote:I know it's been said, but Dirty Diva should be in charge of CFE.

Speaking of vanity, from the @FE site:
These same fanboys will never actually get a subscription to Triathlete Magazine in the first place and would probably never get one again.Triathlete Magazine paid a journalist to write about a few of the above athletes experiences using CF /CFE as their training protocol for IMLP.They decided not to print the article because their "Demographic has CHANGED"?. Haha. It just might be that...if one considers things like 13-hour Ironman triathlon finishes awesome. When I was in the triathlon club in college, we had three guys go do their first one anywhere from 10 to 12 hours.WildGorillaMan wrote:Isn't CFE basically BMAC's personal vanity project to show us all how awesome he is? If mediocrity and below is awesome, which in @FE it seems to be, then it's hitting the mark.

My whole point in bringing this up is that my old boss is a bona fide elite (not eleeet) triathlete. As in: Top 10 finishes in his age group, and high overall placings, and both at honest to god big events like the Hawaii Ironman and others, not at some podunk minitri. Serious training mileage, takes his vacations at high level training camps, knows almost everybody in the upper tiers of the sport, and helps and advises local triathlon club members on their training.
All that, and yet the first he'd ever hear of either Crossfit or Crossfit Endurance was when I told him about them on Monday.
That should be a big wakeup call to BMAC (against whom I have nothing personal, I'm just entertained by his hubris), and any other HQ bigwig (because we all know you're reading this) that there's more to winning hearts and minds and going about Brand Building than just talking shit and having your fanboys and attack chihuauas argue about modal domains on Triathlon forums.

From what I can tell based on her blog, the reason she's good is because she runs a lot and she is literally addicted to ultras. She wrote on her blog that she used to be a druggie and now is an ultra addict instead. I could be wrong but I really doubt her CF training does anything at all for her ultra training. I know that cross training done properly can definitely help you do an ultra, but in her case, I'm doubtful. Does she do anything besides a few pushups, squats, and KB stuff? Not knocking her training, I'm just wondering if she actually does WODs or substantial cross-training regularly.
