That is when his ranting got outside the inner circle and lots of folks who were not invested in the concept said "what?".
The true believers went on the offensive shortly thereafter but had neither the background nor the intellect to engage in Training Theory and Application Debates.

Money, attention, booze and pussy proved too much for couch. Lynne Pitts got drunk on her mod power. She is couch's Himmler. That Brown Shirt cunt.

Yes. It was at this juncture that the wagons began to circle.

Amusing is one of the links "cited" to support it:CrossFit was founded by former high-school gymnast Greg Glassman and his ex-wife Lauren Glassman
http://www.dcpaleo.org/Leisure/CrossFit.html How things have changed...In fact, almost everything about CrossFit is free, which also sets it apart from other fitness crazes.

Now look. I've eaten a pice of pie.
When we spin the pie again, the area cut out of the volume of the sphere equals fitness.

You are right. The last few hours or days have really reminded me of what was lost in this whole thing. I came on the internet when the High Intensity guys ruled the web. Then, Andy F opened the Old School site (which would be "normal" discussions on the web now) and crossfit started posting some good links, including one to me. That's what got them on the map, in a lot of ways, was the links and some fairly simple advice.
It was "all the rest" that made it what it is today...whatever that is...
The conversations were very good over at crossfit. I hired a guy to walk behind me and say "All glory is fleeting." Not a bad idea for some...

I found crossfit around this time and started checking out the site. I remember some of the pissing matches. Shaf pointedly calling couch "Greg" on a thread over there sticks out in my mind, and Rant getting banned. The One True Rant wrote:Pre-fucking-cisely. Dumping us emboldened his henchmen. Eventually I lost interest just because I'm a regular guy and can't see myself having $10,000 to blow on all the requisite gym toys.
I came across some of Pavel's stuff around this time, too. I said fuck it and bought ETK and a kettlebell.
A huge part of their problem is the expense involved. You can get so much more bang for your buck in other ways, and people who have exercised before can see this pretty easily.
