One more example of Everything is Crossfit, with some good 'bullshit calling" from one kid and a lot of whining from the sheep.

I think the CFJ has a far greater population of rabid kool-aid drinkers than the forums.

Volume training? This used to be called "practice" before Couch got all scientifical. I refuse to abate the hate in 2011. F@F.Much has been said about muscular endurance, modal capacity and training weaknesses in CrossFit. What I’d like to cover here is just one tool that might help athletes and coaches quickly improve a distinct weakness.
This training technique—called volume training—has been used in various forms; it is characterized by specific and repetitive training for a weakness.
Re: The couch thread
That is quite innovative!
So, if you have a weakness, you want to .... train that area. A lot.
It's a wonder nobody has thought of that before!
Obviously this fits well in the 2d dimension of the 4 dimensional cube of fitness(c).

I'd have to take issue with the idea that only a novice can get stuck on movements like these. I've been using CF in one form or another (currently Coach Rut's programming) for more than seven years, but no matter what program I follow my strict pull-ups remain stuck in the 10-12 rep range.

So torturing a student is acceptable? Retards.
Pavels pullup progression is the easiest. I even laminated a copy and taped it to the Marine recruiters office window.

Mouse traps are one thing--I'd like to see them impale themselves on a stake. Nothing says eleet like a perforated colon.tough old man wrote:So torturing a student is acceptable? Retards.

Hopefully one of them will up the ante and get a bear trap involved.chubbyhubby wrote:Just when I think that hating on Cultfit is a shallow and unfulfilling pastime, something as awesome as this comes along. But at least they learned something, besides the fact that they are "fucking idiots." From the end of the video: "If it was very skill involved it just didn't work, people were just too afraid and just everything went to hell, but if there was just light skill, lots of strength involved, everyone's motivation definitely peaked if there was a mousetrap ..."
Based on this video, I am predicting a lot of mouse trap enhanced Crossfit Totals in the future. We may even see a trapped/untrapped split develop in the Cultfit community similar to the geared/raw split in powerlifting.

Could you do a thread on the training forum about this? That's unusually fast progress IME, unless we're talking about shortiez.tough old man wrote:Thats just pathetic. Ive had people go from 5 up to 20+ in 6 weeks.Quote:

One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.
