Or an 80 year old man. That's great stuff Quack.Captain Quack wrote:
From Caviston's post and this one, the pattern seems to be appearing that THE BEST PEOPLE IN @F are as awesome at some events as a 14-15 year old, or as a first/second year child gymNAHST.
Where'd you even find the @fit throwing distances? Their results page just lists overall results from the "skills" event it was mixed in, hiding the actual numbers. Any numbers that can actually be compared with another athletic event somewhere (I'll be gawdamned, I had no idea softball throwing was actually an event anywhere) have to be buried in a circuit, like their max snatches combining with L-sits and whatever else they did with that.

Under ASA rules, it's 250 feet from the fence to home plate. One male @Fer could have done that.Captain Quack wrote:http://games.crossfit.com/finals/skillsSongjabong wrote:Where'd you even find the @fit throwing distances?

198 to 210 (at 6'4") over 7 weeks; long training history with no effort to gain mass in last five years. Did it by focusing on compound movements at high intensity, eliminating conditioning, focusing on recovery, and sleeping a lot. He ate ~250g P/ 4500-5000 cals/day. Felt like he was eating all the time. Acknowledged the experiment is probably not practical for normal, working people.Shafman wrote:Dallas and Melissa are training at Gym Jones now, IIRC, and thus, anything Dallas says about Mass Gain is going to be of little use to anyone who thinks they should gain more than 2# in a mass gaining cycle. They can strut around, pounding their chests about being better than @F now, though, FO SHO!

About as expected.

I felt the same way about 6 years ago. I was stuck at 225. Couldn't gain weight for shit. So I ate, nonstop all day. 4,000 to 5,000 calories a day got me up to 240. I could have done it better but it got me there. I did it working on the mainline with no set schedule, no set days off, and on call 24/7.Gin Master wrote:. . . Felt like he was eating all the time. Only took me about 2 years to get back under 200 and then I couldn't maintian it and remain active. 215 to 225 seems to be my static weight. I stay here whether I eat and drink like Henry VIII or if I eat like a @fitter.
Too many "hardgainers" suffer from not eating enough and doing too much. Why do 20 sets of curls when you can do 3 to 5 sets of heavy rows.

I think someone said it best about hypertrophy and who you should learn it from... call me mistaken but they aren't the example of hypertrophy I am looking for.
Using Paleo to "bulk" is fucking retarded in my eyes. Jesus fucking christ I hate those Paleo disciples almost as much as I hate @fit.
And 5000 calories a day isn't shit. I'll show a motherfucker how to bulk and they won't need to spend a shitload of money at some pretentious bullshit seminar about eating fucking food to do it.

Some people/things/sites start off a niche program with good intentions. Then they get greedy and try to grab a little more of the market. By the time they become a one-stop shop, they've lost all credibility but made enough money huckstering that it doesn't matter anymore.Jay wrote:Really? A bulking guide from them?

"Grass fed" and "bulking cycle" should never appear on the same page. But fuck that. I guess "DBol + Chinese buffet" is giving way to tapioca pudding and coconut milk.
