Ah-ha! And so the plot thins.Although we do not know for sure what may have been the culprit for the positive test, I feel strongly that it may have been a homeopathy nasal spray I took that weekend due to allergies.

Either that or the homeopathic sub-lingual halotestin I took that weekend due to weakness.

Re: The couch thread
With the overboard obsession these people approach their "sport" with you'd imagine they'd kick, scream, scratch and murder in order for their chance to compete or to have their "achievements" count.
The fact that they blow the kill-yourself-for-every-rep horn all the fucking time but tuck tail and mope away when popped for PED's seems odd to me.
I think, if they were really clean or used a nasal spray that unfairly voided their participation, they'd be up in arms doing everything they could do to prove their innocence. Paleo-food drives and Stevia bake sales to raise the funds for a trip to the testing headquarters or some shit that they're always so fond of.

I know nothing of the other two affiliates, but CF wilmington openly claims to use non-cf methods to train cf. Wonder if they were testing for common sense?Testiclaw wrote:Man, allergy season.tzg wrote:http://games.crossfit.com/article/indiv ... squalified Two other teams got boned, too.

If you are going to use PEDs, use more than a nasal spray.

Wonder if the east german swimmers would have performed so well if they had used nasal spray instead of the little "vitamin" pills?

You're forgetting principle #1: NOBODY questions Couch and Co. Couch is a genius and we are all thankful he lets us participate. Any injuries we have are because we are stupid and failed to properly utilize Couch's wonderful exercise system.Testiclaw wrote:With the overboard obsession these people approach their "sport" with you'd imagine they'd kick, scream, scratch and murder in order for their chance to compete or to have their "achievements" count.

Throwing a tantrum about testing would put them up against Couch and Co., and well, see principle #1.

Wait. What?
LOLHainer said that Adidas did not want Reebok to be seen as a women-only brand, and that a tie-up with grueling army-developed Crossfit, a fitness regime currently sweeping the U.S., along with more retro Classics products should help regain it some luster.
Wait. What?

It's pretty well known that homeopathic stuff is often laced with OTC drugs that help the condition they are supposed to help, because homeopathy is ridiculous shit.

Doesn't seem "pretty well known" to folks here. I googled some on "homeopathic contamination" and "homeopathic adulterated" and found some minor examples...but nothing compared to the scale of normal supplements being adulterated with stuff like Viagra and anabolics.Shafpocalypse Now wrote:It's pretty well known that homeopathic stuff is often laced with OTC drugs that help the condition they are supposed to help, because homeopathy is ridiculous shit.
From the "DMAA Research Page" (put out by USP Labs, aka Jack3d):
Could the homeopathic have been adulterated? Sure, but from what I've seen that happens with smaller name manufacturers sourcing from places like China, India, Pakistan, etc. Not common for stuff that makes it into Whole Foods. If the guy wants to clear his name and get 15 minutes of interwebz fame, he should buy another bottle and pay the small fee (what, $100-200? no idea) to get it checked for said stimulants. Won't happen. Can DMAA cause a positive drug test?
If you are a competitive athlete and are tested for DMAA, yes. DMAA is considered a performance-enhancing compound. If you are tested for DMAA and you take DMAA, the test will detect this, just as if you took glycerol and were tested for glycerol. If you consume a compound and are tested for that compound specifically, the test will read positive.
There is also some data that suggests DMAA may cause a false-positive for amphetamines in certain types of urine “kits”. However, once that initial test is confirmed through another more advanced method, it no longer reads as positive. That is standard for drug testing.
This is the fault of the kits, not DMAA. There are literally dozens of over-the-counter products that can cause false-positive results. For example, if you use a nasal spray for common cold systems, a false positive test can also be recorded.
