Wow, look, more stupid.
http://agymlife.com/get-better-at-crossfit/
Being shared all over fb right now.
In a nutshell:
1. Fail on your lifts.
2. Practice everything every day.
3. Don't eat ever. And when you do eat, make sure its only from a few species and doesn't contain any calories.
Its really really hard to sound credible for talking sense when shit like this is flung about and taken as gospel.
For the record:
1. Strong people don't waste their energy and recovery failing on lifts. That's for game day.
2. Pick and choose what you practice and when. Make a schedule, also known as a PLAN, build your base, practice your skills, and MANAGE YOUR FATIGUE. (this does not mean always being on the edge of exhausted and starving).
3. Yes, you should eat before you work out. And after. If you want to waste away to nothing and castrophically destroy a joint or two, go ahead, but that's just dumb.

48-50 were great points, but placed at the bottom for some reason.1. Gear up. Get oly shoes, some inov-8s or nano’s, a speed rope, some wrist wraps, and some good workout clothes

So, riddle me this?
What kind of competition organizer posts a single video from their competition when that video is of a girl falling on her face doing a muscle up without mentioning that said girl won the competition?

One that understands the gorilla axiom that if you win no one will remember, but if you fall off the apparatus, drop a barbell on your head or pee yourself on video you are immortalized.syaigh wrote:So, riddle me this?

You can't always win decisively but you can always fail spectacularly.

Well, I thought that as well, but now I'm beginning to think that it is a way to humiliate and discourage those who don't quite fit the mold or are perhaps getting more attention than others. So much for community.

Especially in the crossfit community.

You know what I think is psycho!? Lifting "outside your comfort zone" fasted. I can't lift heavy on no food. Fuck that. It's ludicrous. I need a protein shake and some bananas and an apple before I hit the gym, on top of one of my grilled chicken sandwiches with wasabi mustard for lunch, or I can't lift, or even concentrate.
I get wanting to look like you're in-shape but fuck! Why would you suffer through suboptimal training sessions (and subsequently get less of a training effect) brought on by lack of food?
And I tried training fasted for damn near four months before, during my Idiot Days too and I never had PR's.
Wacko!!!
Re: The couch thread
What the fucking fuck? That bullshit got 13k likes on Facebook?
FWIW, I had a pretty good lifting session about 17 hours into a fast the other day. I tend to be much better off with a small amount of food, but not much, before I work out.

Re: The couch thread
Maybe it's just me. Then again, my body fat is lower, but I'm not shredded, by any stretch of the imagination.
And I did consider- "Maybe I'm just being a pussy?"
But I don't think so. I try to get the work done with good intensity when appropriate and get the well-thought-out numbers I'm looking for... So I dunno. For me, I gotta have food.

Her Ass beat.
Her.
and there's barely enough ass there for beating.

Re: The couch thread
On a relatively un-related note- I was checking out Killer Kate's blog and apparently she's a lesbian. I didn't know that. When did this happen? Was she always a lesbian? Because she looked like a typical straight chick in her early pictures. Did she decide to become one one day or did she always dig chicks?
Also, if lesbians are by definition: "Women who are sexually attracted to other women" then howcome so many of them end up with women who look like men?

He's not the first to point out the best way to be good at crossfit is not to do just crossfit. And if you want to get really good at CrossFit, just going CrossFit is a BAD IDEA.

Arnold ought to make up a "Benchmark Girl" workout for this supplemental program and call it "Sarah Connor."
