Uncle Sam helps the French...again
PARIS — A heavily armed gunman opened fire aboard a packed high-speed train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris late Friday afternoon, wounding several passengers before he was tackled and subdued by two Americans, according to French officials, who said the pair had averted a mass killing.
At least one of the Americans was a member of the armed services, and some news reports said they were both Marines.

Bullshit. The article says "Oregon National Guardsman." I suppose that doesn't get you hard enough to rub one out in the way that "Marines" do.Luke wrote:PARIS — A heavily armed gunman opened fire aboard a packed high-speed train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris late Friday afternoon, wounding several passengers before he was tackled and subdued by two Americans, according to French officials, who said the pair had averted a mass killing.

I love the spin feel they need to spin something like this into a story they like even better. I just saw CNN report this as an inactive guardsman, member of the Air Force and civilian, flipped to FOX who was reporting it was reported it Marines "in civilian clothes". I read online that special forces were likely involved. It's only a matter of time before they are SEAL Team Six members on their way home to serve as vacation Bible school teachers in a homeless shelter.
Ordinary people do cool things. It's BS to whitewash such actions because "Marines helping the French...again" sounds really, really, really cool.

That article has been amended since I posted it. When it was reported here (Australian time) those details weren't mentioned. It was on Facebook too as US Marines.
Oh well.
Oh well.

As always, the details have been fluid. Being the first to report is more important than being the first to report correctly.

Yeah. This started as two marines. Whatever, that detail doesn't matter. What matters is that unarmed men had the balls to act, and they saved a lot of lives. Something all of us can learn from.

I read that a british civilian was involved beside the air and army national guards men.

I agree that if details aren't mentioned, it's best to fill them in.Luke wrote:When it was reported here (Australian time) those details weren't mentioned. It was on Facebook too as US Marines.
Oh, if it's on Facebook, it's got to be true.

This thread gets funnier by the minute!!!
If anybody listens to FOX NEWS it's clear that the 3 were Air Force.
