What's the IGx opinion on the deflated footballs?

So you should all know the story...11 of their 12 footballs the Patriots used in their 45-7 win over the Colts were 2 pounds below the league minimum psi for their game balls. Now any of us who watched some or all of the game could see that pehaps deflated footballs which are easier to grip and throw and catch were probably the least of the Colts problems but it is a clear violation of the league rules.

So I was listening to Troy Aikman on the radio this morning and he was talking about it and he basically said if Sean Payton deserved to be suspended for a year for an act that absolutely had nothing to do with the concept of "unfair" advantage then what should be done here?

I get it, people hate the Patriots. But everyone tries to get an advantage. Aaron Rogers doesn't like any deflation. Kickers have doctored footballs for years. Mitch Berger stands out.

The refs handled the balls before the game started. The deflated ball had nothing to do with the Colts inability to stop LaGuerette Blount from running for 143 yards and scoring 3 TD's

It's a non story, but because it's the Patriots, all hell is breaking loose.

Yes. They were playing in a 70,000 seat stadium and 70,000 digital cameras and on live TV in front of millions and they were able to deflate 11 footballs without officials who handled them in between every play knowing? That's some serious lack of quality control shit.

Brady's denial that he didn't deflate the balls (while saying nothing that somebody didn't do it for him) made be believe that they did it, not that I really care.

Playing devil's advocate, did they weigh the Colts' footballs? Anybody who ever grew up in a cold weather environment knows that winter deflates balls, though certainly not to this extent.

Commentary on this is as bad as any I remember in recent sports history.

Listening to reports that the NFL has interviewed more than 40 people and are trying to track down every person who could have possibly handled the balls is laughable. The QB and team selects the balls, the officials confirm they are to regulation and...they are passed around league offices, take a few laps on the metro, are given to a homeless guy for a few hours and sometimes vanish.
