This is way out of my wheelhouse but it's the second time he's written about it in the last 3 weeks.

"Here's the thing folks, when you boil it all down -- thorium is a no-brainer when it comes to a nuclear fuel and fuel cycle, assuming you want power and not bombs. It also is the enabling pathway to petroleum independence without changing the consuming end of the pipeline."

His first post on it stated that thorium is abundant in coal and it'd be pretty easy to design a system that used both the coal for a diesel-like fuel and the nuclear reaction to generate electricity.

Anybody know more about this?
