"Stretch to Win" by the Fredericks

A very comprehensive approach to flexibility.

Very hands on and practical.

I'll post more as I finish it.

It provides a complete system, which includes documenting ROM and trigger points, and self myofacial release, and stretches.

OK. This is a kick ass book. For $20 it's an excellent value for the materials it covers.

I highly recommmend it.

Any idea how it compares to Kurz's book?

No. Except it probably gives you more guidelines.

I'd say that it chimes in with what Pavel says, however, it goes into more depth than Pavel does, wrt developing a stretching system unique to your needs.

What I like:

-approach to improving soft tissue quality with self-myofascial release techniques
-core "routines" that flow together like the YRG stuff flows together.
-focus on using the breathing cycle to sink deeper into the stretch

For the money, it provides you with much more info than Pavel did.

I saw this title at Borders yesterday, and I'd have to agree with that. Now if only they'd come out with a DVD...

The Stretch to Win System is the best! I've been through their program and can say that I've been completely blown away by how immediately effective it is at improving flexibility without ANY pain.

I've increased hamstring flexibility in some of my clients by over 12inches in 1 session while only stretching the hamstrings minimally.

Dude, you look pretty beefy, so please don't take this personally, but for the sake of all that's holy, please don't say 'my clients' here. Sounds too much like Zzzzzzz or a roadside spa.
