This is a book I that I put off getting because I thought it was only for football. In reality it’s for anyone interested in strength training. A lot of things covered in the book are not new to IGers but for only $20 it’s still worth it. If you forked over $39 for Pavel’s books then this is a steal. It’s about the size of PTP but thicker with smaller type and no ads in the back. Some of it is dated but still makes for a lot of good reading. The training section is still as valid as ever. This was written in the mid 70s when schools were considering the move from free weights to Universal and Nautilus machines and there is a good chapter that compares the two. In at least one of the pictures the name “Yorkâ€

Note, Defying Gravity is probably the best book you'll ever find on lifting competition dos and don'ts. It's as good as Strongest Shall Survive.
