For extending fruit and vegetable shelf life.

They work. My mom, who loves this kind of thing, bought some, and gave me half. I've had bananas in one for about 12 days now and they still look and taste pretty fresh.

Someone pointed out to me it's generally cheaper to eat your food fresh than to store it anyway.
