Shaf, based on your review, I ordered these rings. They are nice.

Are you a decapus, or are you training yourself and 4 others at the same time? That seems like a lot of rings.

I'm glad everybody likes 'em. Chris Sommer is a quality guy (not that I'm saying Tyler isn't). I was pleased with them and pleased to recommend them.

CrossFit baby

I do small (up to 10) people in group classes doing achyballz, body weight, clubbells, dummbells etc. Before I only had the pullup bar on my squat rack and one pair of rings. Now I can accommodate more people doing pullups or ring rows or whatever at the same time.

Where do you hang them all?

from the ceiling joists 2x4s very close to the steel i-beam. I have one pair on the pullup bar on my rack for doing ring rows and pushups. When not i use I can tie them off to the ceiling grid, the rack or what is close by.

The joists are about 10', the ceiling grid is about 9'. My space is actually an office building in what used to be a physical terapists office.
http://iron-body.com/index.php/Workouts/ has a bunch of pics of some classes. these were taken before I put up the new rings. THe heavy bag is down & I put up a pair of rings there. No one was using the bag & I needed the space

Nice looking space, Dave. Your "Bitchin Betty" workout says 5 presses, 10 snatches, 15 swings.
Is that one side/one round, or both sides/one round? Sounds like a decent amount of work.

Thanks the workout area is about 28x38. I wish it had higher ceilings but it works well. I had 11 people crammed in there on a Sunday a few weeks ago. Average class size is 5-7, but it is growing.

5 press each arm using a 5 or 6RM weight
10 snatches each arm with a heavier bell
15 swings each arm with the heaviest you can handle

as many times through it in 20 mins as possible.

Looks like you are doing well Dave. Maybe getting laid off was good for you.

I'm having a blast. Getting laid off was what I needed to get going. Before I was always worried about making ends meet. Its hard to give up a cushy 70k job. But I'd rather do this than go back to a cube farm, even though I'm not making bagloads of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ yet

I've talked to a bunches of entrepreneur types who said exactly the same thing. Nice to see it's going well Dave.

The Universe gives us a nudge when we need it. Sometimes it can look pretty harsh, like getting laid off or having Tom Cruise drop a dead body onto the hood of your cab.
Congrats, Dave.

Congrats, Dave.
I have been VERY fortunate in this endeavor this past year. I have some very hard working and very supportive clients who have been instrumental in my success. But I'm not there yet. I'm still working a part-time IT job for about 15 hours/wk in the mornings. Mostly I get to surf. Put in a few servers and implemented a VMware server and I monitor it. It pays the mortgage.

A lot of Xfitters talk about going from 0 to 25 or 30 or more in the 1st year. I dont know how they do it since they rely on word of mouth. I'm slowly getting a good rep & have clients who are stay at home moms, tri-athletes, police, fire, real estate and several pilots. Growth is slow but steady.

Steve Cotter has been a great friend in giving me guidance and helping me stay positive throughout. He recommended Nappy Hill's book "Think & Grow Rich" which really changed my mindset. I read a bit of Dan Kennedy and got ideas but I really don't like his style.

Dave W has also been nice enough to answer my questions as well

Oh and Scott Sonnon too.

Life is good

Thanks to all
