Anyone else think this looks like a good movie? David Mamet has done some great stuff in the past, hope this lives up to his reputation. The trailers and clips that I have seen look interesting enough for me to spend the $7 to see this movie.

Nah, that is a little extreme. Redbelt should be a more serious fight movie.

Saw it today. It wasn't bad. Trying to wedge samurai themes into anything except samurai movies is always risky, and Hollywood trying to portray martial arts philosophy is often overdone.
So they over-romanticize some stuff, but for what Mamet was trying to do it's a decent effort. Portraying certain Brazilians as money grubbing business people was funny.

One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.
