Bell's Hopslam
Post by Shafpocalypse Now »
"A biting, bitter, tongue bruiser of an ale"
That's what Bell's puts on the label. What it is, is one of the finest examples of a double IPA you can get. Hoppy, citrusy, and potent at 10% ABV.
This is not a beer used to quench your thirst, this is a beer you pour and enjoy. It's only around in the early part of the year. Good luck finding it. If you enjoy this style of beer, then this may be your holy grail.
A fine closer on Fat Tuesday.

I've picked up an issue here or there. Nothing regular.
I do like me some fancy hoppy stuff during the cold weather months. When it gets hot, though, I like it cold and quenching.

Hopslam sounds like a damn fine beer. Especially since its from Bell's. I'm only able to get to Michigan in the summatime when Bell's Oberon is flowing from every tap in the state.

Babaloo- IIRC, you're in NM. I would go for any number of the Colorado beers you can get. If you like the big ones, Avery makes a good set of 10%+ bottlings.

My favorite beer store in Albuquerque has some of the best beers available. I've tried a few from Colorado. Right now my favs are from Stone Brewery. Beer from Bells though is some of the finest.

If you go towards the Stone Arrogant Bastard line, you come close.
A double IPA will give a comparision. This year, the Hopslam came out very nicely, though.
