Speed and Distance Heart Rate Monitors

Post by IWP »

I was going to post a summary of different products, but instead I'll just put up this link. If anyone is interested I can comment on ny experiences with the Suunto t3 Multisport Pack and what new items have come out in the last 2 1/2 years.

I've got the Polar S625X that works great for me but I have to qualify and say it's the only one I've ever had so I don't know any better. The foot pod seems to be pretty much right on the money. I've been doing a lot of cardio with the 20 pound SmartVest and the heavier X-Vest both of which keeps me from using the chest strap to monitor heartrate function but that's cool.

That's a good multisport model. They also have a specialized one for running http://www.proten.com/polar-rs800sd.html

Hey Shaf,

Are you saying the most you can put in your SmartVest is 20#. If I remember right, ab g_d said the same thing. A few years back when talked to the owner, he said you can put two 1# plates in each pocket; so, my medium vest holds 32#. Just wondering.
