Manhood Stones: The ShqipÃrisà Stone

Post by Hank Scorpio »

This book is a welcome adition to any stone lifter's library. While many are familiar with the manhood stones of Nothern Europe and the Basque country, few know that the practive can be traced back even further to the original Gallatian inhabitants of what is now Albania (The Shquips). Tribal migration, forced during the late Roman period, ultimately spead the practice to the rest of Europe. Through captivating prose and old Shquip shepherd poems, Dr Ypi draws the reader into an engrossing tale of banditry, ribald bestiality, and manhood lifting. The Stone represents the Holy Grail of stone lifting: to be considered fully Zemers, a Man with Heart, one must travel to on foot from Shkodra to Ulcinj and lift the stone with a traditional Albanian scrotal harness

If you liked Steve Jeck's Kviahellan, I can't recommend this book highly enough. The problem is, it's damn difficult to find; your best bet is to call or email an antiquarian book dealer. I got mine through a friend who found one in Slovenia during a recent business trip.

The ShqipÃrisà Stone, Ypi, Rexhep, Professor Doctor, I.B. Tauris, London, 1993.

You had me at ribald bestiality.
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
