A book by Dr. Rick Levy, a clinical psychologist.
I picked this book up at Borders in the bargain bin for $5. After reading it I would have paid $30 had I known how worthwhile it is.
If you're interested in the mind/body connection, buy it. It covers the following:
1. Eliminating or at least lessening physical pain.
2. The same for emotional pain.
3. Curing physical problems by channeling brain energy.
4. Self-Hypnosis
5. Meditation
6. Chi
It is written for the layman and is very readable. I think it's about $13 at Amazon. Buy it.

Perhaps that was a clumsy description of what is actually taking place. Levy says it is possible while in a self-hypnotic state to focus on an injured part of the body and heal it partially or totally. He refers to patients that have achieved this. I haven't tried it.
