Don't get me wrong, he's fat by anyone's standards, it's just not all lard. He takes after my mother's side of the family. Some of my mothers brothers & her uncles are very big men.If my brother ever took up weightlifting seriously, he'd be a monster compared to your average Joe six pack. The funny thing is his wife weighs maybe a 115-125 lbs (she's kind of taller than your average Jap chick, but fit)

My brother is kind of the black sheep of the family. He got fired from his corporate job & then all of a sudden said he was moving to Japan to teach English. He's been there for almost four years. I believe he met his wife through a mutual friend.

His old room mate is the reporter for Sherdog that covered all the Japanese MMA events. Basically he got free press passes in exchange for covering the events. My brother was at the last PRIDE event held Japan before it went tits up.

OK, enough about my Brother.

Back to the topic and task at hand. It's confirmed, AB found a way to ruin a beer that includes Cascade hops. How you pull that off is beyond me.

It was tough going, but I finished off the last 5 bottles of AB American Ale. I first polished off a 6 pack of some awesome double IPA brew from Alpine CA. With an alcohol content of 8.5% I was pretty well lit, and my taste buds we're fried, by time I had to take on the AB crap.

Ok, these were perhaps the best beers I have had this year. Stout, strong type, aged in Highland Park 12 and 16 year whisky casks. Surprisingly subtle, not like the American Bourbon barrel stouts I've had that taste like a fucking boilermaker. Really, really good.

Need a recommendation for a malty beer with very low carbonation. No like the fizzies and I'm not alchoholic enough to try every beer one by one till I find one.

I'd suggest a Chardonnay.

1964 Château Cheval Blanc and some fine Laotian hashish.

Many Scotch ales would fit what you're looking for, too. Sam Adam's version is available in most decently stocked places and is pretty tasty this time o' year.

Sam Adams has a nice taste, but too damn fizzy!

I'll try a scotch ale though.

GG- You would probably like Boddingtons in a draught can or Old Speckled Hen. If you want to get technical, I would go for bottle conditioned or krausened beers, usually found in pint+ bottles. These aren't filtered or force carbonated and usually have very noticeably lower gas levels than beers like SA.

Plus, as BB says, your ingredients +cost per pint is in the 35-75 cent range. Can't be beat.
