When I take away the fact that Sean Connery is one of the coolist acors ever and he defined the role of Bond, for me Quantum of Solace is the best Bond film ever.
The first 20 minutes is a violence fest, pretty realistic and possable violence as well.
Like this is one that could actually happen. No stupid gadget. The biggest gadgets he uses are a GPS we could all buy, a HK MP-5, and the PPK is back !(and that pistol makes sense for plain clothes ops (In Andy McNabb's book, the SAS call it the "Disco Gun.")
The guy comes off like a hard case, gone is the twit Brit posh boy bit, Craig comes off as if he was a former SAS Northern Ireland vet, not some well trained, tricked out Eton Alum.
See it Lie Bitches.

I loved it too. Yeah, he does come off like some pissed off former SAS guy. I liked that aspect, especially after Brosnan's whole pretty boy version of Bond. Liked the lack of gadgets, thought the violence was appropriate considering he was out for revenge, found the rope and scaffolding stuff a bit much, though.
Funny, my friend was buying into all of it until Bond ripped the handle off the door then he said "Yeah, right!"
I thought it was kind of all over the place. I liked it, but I thought Casino Royale was pretty much the best Bond movie perfect except for the ridiculous poker.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

As someone who has hung alot of doors and replaced alot of door hardware, you could snap that, if you put some good force and snap into it.
The scaffolding was teetering on the edge, ore so the fact that he was not limping around after all that abuse. If it was real, Bond would be retired by his mid 40s.

The reason i liked it so much was that i read a review before seeing that said you should consider Quantum as the second half of Casino. The back story and plot were mostly in Casino and the aftermath is all in Quantum. Made even more sense to me after I saw it.
