Did you make the drive to Whitey-ville?
I did. The theater I went to gives you a "Director's Hall" option for some for some of the flicks for a $3.50 surcharge. It's digital--whatever. You get recliners large enough to fit Peach, but the best thing is the negroes can't afford it.
Sunday at 4:00, there were about twenty folks, all well behaved.
Really liked it. The woman I was with never heard of or read anything about it and liked it.
Did anyone else find the Chandleresque narration by Rorschach to be a bit annoying?
No, I stayed in Niggerville, but there was only one nigger in the theater. Didn't see any going to watch Madea either...guess they bumrushed it on opening weekend...friend told me the line was around the corner opening weekend.
The Rorschach narration was well-done, imo...a good translation from book to film...about as good as it could be done I think.
The things I didn't like:
1. Dr. Manhattan's porn cock. They should have just put the black strap thing on him for the whole movie.
2. What the fuck Snyder was thinking by having Lenoard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' playing during the graphic sex scene is beyond me. I damn near laughed out loud. The song choice is only made worse by the fact that everyone remembers that song from Shrek.
3. He overdid the rape scene. He didn't beat her ass unconscious like that in the book. I was like, "Ok, I think she's out", and then there's like three more head slams to the pool table. Could have used more subtlety, imo. It's a difficult subject matter to begin with...no sense turning it into an over the top beatdown.
4. The guy who played Veidt doesn't suck horse cock quite as bad as the internet fanboys made him out to, but he was hopelessly miscast, nonetheless. I can think of about 20 actors who would have been more appropriate.
5. The dogs fighting over the little girl's leg bone with the sock and shoe still on it...didn't need to see that. I know that's a scene from the book, but Gibbons didn't present it quite that graphically.
