Fuck yeah. Have you read the novella? It's online.

The original version of "The Thing From Another World" is pretty much just the very beginning of the story, blown up into a movie. But Carpenter nailed it.

Layer Cake is a good one to watch more than once.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.

Legends of the Fall

I put off watching this movie for year since I thought it was a chick flick. When I finally watched it I fell in love. Brad Pitt is dreamy.

But on a less gay note. It's a damned great movie.

The Deullists, a 1977 movie made for European television starring Harvey Keitel and Keith Carradine. Its based on the true story of two Napoleonic officers who fought a series of duels over the years. I end up throwing this in the dvd player a couple of times a year.

Its a beautifully shot film with every frame looking like a painting. Ridley Scott directed it and the funny thing is someone in Hollywood saw this and said, "That's the guy we need to direct Alien."
