seriously dude, i've been doing alot of long distance stuff recently and i want to find some real durable leather sandals i can trail run in. i like the idea of going barefoot but theyres just too many rocks on the trail so i figured a old school sandal would rock.

Here; good enough for the Tarahumara, good enough for you.

These instructions work just fine for leather as well.
There are also various youtube vids. Having made and run in them, I can say that there is a considerable learning curve involved in tying them; balancing the angles and tensions.

Guys,
If you're going to post pictures of chicks in sandles, how about some pics of chicks from caligula?
BTW- Caligula means "Little Boots/shoes" in ancient street Latin.
Coincidence? I think not!

1. That's Barefoot Ted, not I.
2. Outback, not Forester
3. I don't think coexistence works
4. No Wellstone, but I do have a Sinfest.net bumper sticker of the Buddha (that I made myself, naturally)
5. It's actually a "Yes We Did" Obama sticker.

Bare FOOT Ted. The go-to guy online for everything minimalist-runner-related. He appears in "Born To Run," IIRC. I haven't read it yet.Mickey O'neil wrote:Bareback Ted?! WTF?!

Dude, I dig your peaceful countenance however you've not been here long enough to fully comprehend the insidious nature of our DickDogGrabber. He'll lure you in with all kinds of new-wavy hip ideas, and it's all peace and love, then when you least expect it he's digging through your dirty laundy hoping to find a pair of your sweaty underwear he can put under his pillow at night. You've been warned.the count of monte fisto wrote:dog, and other dudes thanks for the how to stuff. making those will be so cool. for everyone else, i know this is igx but i just cant truck with how much you all harsh on dog. hes doing some pretty much totally rad stuff and has good advice.

If you read "Born To Run" (the book, not the Bruce Springsteen album), you might get a new appreciation for it. The Taramahura are perhaps the worlds greatest (and toughest) long distance runners, and they run in huraches like those. We Americans can't help but look goofy trying to emulate them, but the motivation behind it is good - running 50+ miles on trails in sandals is sort of the anti-matter opposite of manrammery.GoDogGo! wrote:Corrections:High Velocity Lie-Nap! wrote:
