Taken

Post by Grandpa's Spells »

Very entertaining. Creates a situation where the hero can do very bad things and still be sympathetic. Never seen so many people in disbelief in a movie theater before.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Do you mean "Man on Fire" very bad things?

Does Liam finally not have a sword? It seems like several of his movies involve him using a sword at some point or another.

I use my sword as much as possible. Even when I'm by myself.

I loved this movie.
A bit over the top, but a hell of a lot of fun.
Yes, way badder things then Man on Fire.

Surely they at least have him carry a street sword at all times?

Movie terrorists & kidnappers have the worst luck: they almost always try to jack the flight that has a Delta squad on R&R or the ship that has Chief Ryback making breakfast burritos for the Squids.

Kind of sucked. Pretty much a Steven Segal movie with a better actor.

What about a concealed tomahawk, or a tactical flashlight?

Then I might watch it when it comes on basic cable but if there are no swords, tomahawks or tactical flashlights I cannot see myself spending $9 at the cinema. I have my standards

This movie was fucking fantastic.

I question the motive (among other things) of anyone who said it wasn't. Yeah...it was a bit cliche, etc...but it was still fucking kick ass.

Fun movie, if a tad unrealistic. The sequence at the construction site, there's no way every single bullet missed both him and the girl. But WTF, it's an action movie! I still can't sleep from the adrenaline dump.

Taken, The Transporter flicks, are enjoyable. This flick, is average script, great actors and choreography.

I thought Taken was meh, kinda weak. I thought Man On Fire was a better movie with a comparable plot.

It loses a lot being reduced to the small screen, IMO.

Worth paying attention and exciting but "Man On Fire" character much cooler and more clever destructiveness. Putting a bomb up a bad guy's asshole and casually walking away was a very cool thing to do and unmatched by anything in "Taken".
